Hell yes, thanks for checking out The Switchyard!
We’re here to get the week started right on a Sunday night. We’re gonna have a bunch of great damn music, we’re gonna eat some food, we’re gonna talk to strangers around a fire. And we’re gonna send our new friends—the bands who have traveled so far to perform for us—off with full bellies, some gas money and then some.
Starting in 2010, The Switchyard House has hosted local, national, and international bands with equal welcome. We’ve been stoked to support the local scene while offering a homey Sunday rest stop for those on tour. Any money received goes towards supporting artists and expenses for shows, our team has always been happy to volunteer ❤️
Music, poetry, and human expression, you know, all that good bullshit.
Switchyard shows are probably acoustic, probably on Sunday nights, most likely a poet plus 3 music acts doing 30 minutes each, and definitely a night of friends old and new, usually with a touring band supported by local heavy hitters.
Oh yeah, and sometimes it’s even Monon Day, an amplified street party with piles of your favorite or will-be-favorite bands…probably on a Saturday.
Music at Switchyard House has always been supported by our friends in the audience, and all money goes to paying musicians— by passing the hat, Substack paid subscriptions, and merch.

Our shows are to remind us that we shouldn’t toil alone, so don’t be a stranger.
The rule is: If you hear about it, you’re invited.
